1924: Roger William Anliker is the third child born to Carl and Emily Anliker in Akron, Ohio. Roger is pictured on the left, next to Frederick (center) and James (right) Anliker.
"We all would like to think that we work to the best of our ability. But Roger’s fanatical pursuit of excellence, seemed to transcend normal human limits. He was as committed to his work as any Olympic gold medalists are to their sports. But unlike elite athletes, whose careers end by middle age, Roger drove himself relentlessly until he died in 2013 at the age of 89. In fact, as a young man Roger debated becoming a dancer, an acrobat or an artist. He made the choice that he could pursue for the duration. But there was a price to be paid for the path he followed."
– John Thornton, August 2021
This exhibition featuring twenty-four paintings by Roger Anliker was set to be on display from March 20-29, 2020. Unfortunately, the show was interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic. This video provides a virtual tour.
